Finally...some peace and quiet!

I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas and that it was all you expected. Mine was very noisy with lots of food, enough gifts and plenty of family. Everyone seems to find their way here on Christmas day which is fine with me. There were about 20 of us, all ages (17 months to 70 some years). We laughed, talked, opened presents and ate way too much! I was still preparing food when my family started arriving. I had worked on an order until the Monday before Christmas, then had to finish my decorating and making some cookies and finger foods. We don't have a big dinner, we just serve lots of things to nibble on while visiting. We had ham biscuits, ham and cheese rolled into crescent rolls and baked, sausage rolled into crescent rolls and baked (what would I cook without crescent rolls!!), potato salad, dips with vegetables and chips, cheeses and crackers and lots of cookies and cakes. Needless to say, no one left hungry.

I quickly tire of foods like that, so on Saturday I made a big pot of chicken vegetable soup. My two nieces stopped by Saturday afternoon to visit on their way back to Washington, so I sent them home with hot soup. It was so good and just what I needed!

Finally I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. I've just about finished a rabbit for TDIPT Mercantile's update on New Year's Eve. I had hoped to have a couple of things finished but that's probably wishful thinking on my part. I hope to have a picture by tomorrow evening of the bunny and I'll post it here.

I'm also trying to get something done for Ebay, it's been so long I hope I can remember how to list!

So that's pretty much all I've done in the last couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get my selling blog going soon and I have a couple of other things I want to do, but we'll see how my time goes.
Hope you all enjoy the last few days of 2008, can you believe we're about to go into another New Year? Time does surely fly by...try to enjoy each and every minute of it and don't take it for granted.

Take care~Diane

Oh, the fruit arrangement in the picture is hanging by my door. My brother makes them and gives me one each Christmas. Isn't it gorgeous?

New on Simply Primitives

Appearing tonight on the Simply Primitives website will be this 20" Americana Doll. I thought it was a bit late to offer a Christmas Doll so instead I decided to make one to celebrate the upcoming Americana Holidays. Hope you get a minute to take a look at her, the Simply Primitives link is to the right under "Where to find my Items".

I've finished all my orders that have to be mailed but still have several to do for family and friends. Along with trying to get my own house decorated and doing some baking for people I've been kept very busy. I won't have anything listed on Ebay until after Christmas.

Since I didn't have time to do my Blog Give-Away before Christmas it's going to be first on my agenda for after Christmas and I also plan to start putting a few things on my Selling Blog. I have so many ideas I want to get to after the first of the year...Americana pieces, bunnies and so much more. I hope if you're not on my email list you will email me to be added (dla53@earthlink.net).

I also wanted to remind you that the TDIPT Mercantile update for the 15th of the month will be tonight, be sure to check out all the wonderful offerings there. The TDIPT Blog is a joy to see too. Many of our Artisans are sharing pictures of their fabulous Christmas decorations in their homes, be sure to stop by and take a look at all of the wonderful pictures. The link to both the website and the blog are to the right. I know you'll be happy you took the time to look!

Hope you all have a great week and get your shopping, baking and, in my case, decorating finished up....Christmas is almost here!!!!! ~~Diane
