Simply Primitives Sneak Peek

On January 15th Simply Primitives will update. I'll have two Cupboard Bunnies listed, the one pictured above, perfect for Spring & Valentine's Day, and an Americana one, perfect for all those upcoming patriotic days. Hope you get a chance to take a look, the link is to the right of this page.

I also want to share with you tonight a really good (and easy) molasses cookie recipe printed in our newspaper shortly before Christmas, I made several batches to give as gifts and for us to eat. They are easy and delicious, hope you'll try them.

MOLASSES COOKIES:

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
Granulated sugar, for coating

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt shortening in microwave. Remove from heat and let cool (I just pop mine in the fridge for a few minutes). Add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well. In another bowl combine dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt & spices. Add to shortening mixture, mix well. Chill. Form in 1" balls, I use a small ice cream scoop for this. Roll in granulated sugar, place on greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes.

Try these, I'm sure you'll love them. Til next time~Diane
