~TDIPT Mercantile Update~

The Mercantile updates tonight and this little Chubby Bunny is what I'll have on there. The Mercantile will update between 9:00 and 10:00P.M. (eastern time).

Chubby Bunny is made to hang and is about 21" tall from her toes to the tips of her wired ears. She's dressed is sage green and shades of pink. She's holding a mache' egg that I painted pink and liberally sprinkled with mica flakes and glitter. I wired the egg and added a "Spring" tag and vintage pink Easter grass above and below the egg. Her arms are wired so I simply bended her hand to hold the wired egg.

Hope you enjoy her and all the other offerings from the 1st of the month TDIPTer's.

We've been having slushy ice today, later this evening it started freezing on trees and the power lines. I'm hoping we won't loss our power!

ALMOST READY TO OPEN

I've been doing some work on my selling blog tonight, I plan to have several things offered on there this weekend. There will be bunnies and Americana things for sale. I hope you'll be there for my new venture.

If you have any requests for designs you'd like to see, please feel free to offer them. You can also sign up for my email list to be notified when I offer new items. (The link to email me is below the Welcome above.)

I hope you'll get a chance to check out our TDIPT Blog. I added a delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter cookie recipe on there yesterday and the directions for using it as a gift mix. They're simple to make and worth the time too!

It's finally warming up a bit around here (central Virginia), and I must say it feels good. We had some terribly cold weather since Christmas, not as bad as alot of you, but plenty cold for us.

Hope you'll get a chance to stop by this weekend and see my offerings on my "selling blog". The link for it and the TDIPT blog are to the right.

Hope you have a great weekend~enjoy it~ Diane

Valentine Rabbit

Tonight I listed this Valentine Rabbit on Ebay. The auction will end next Monday night at 7:50p.m. (eastern time). Hope you get to take a look at her.

I seem to be hung up on rabbits since Christmas, maybe it has something to do with the miserably cold weather we've had recently. Possibly, subconsciously anyway, I think it'll bring Spring's warm, soft days to us quicker. Whatever the reason, bunnies seem to be multiplying here, I sold ten of my Cupboard Bunny's I had listed on Simply Primitives this month. I'm very thankful for each order, I didn't know how things would sell after Christmas. We hear such dire warnings about the economy, in a way I think it brainwashes us into believing every little bit of bad news we hear. Anyway, I've been pleasantly surprised with sales since the holidays ended.

As soon as I can finish my Bunny orders, I want to finally get something listed on my selling blog. If you'd like to be added to my mailing list to be notified when I do get it going just drop me an email at dla53@earthlink.net

Well, I need to get off the computer and get ready for bed, when you're producing so many bunnies you need your rest! Take care and keep warm~Diane

Simply Primitives Sneak Peek

On January 15th Simply Primitives will update. I'll have two Cupboard Bunnies listed, the one pictured above, perfect for Spring & Valentine's Day, and an Americana one, perfect for all those upcoming patriotic days. Hope you get a chance to take a look, the link is to the right of this page.

I also want to share with you tonight a really good (and easy) molasses cookie recipe printed in our newspaper shortly before Christmas, I made several batches to give as gifts and for us to eat. They are easy and delicious, hope you'll try them.

MOLASSES COOKIES:

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
Granulated sugar, for coating

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt shortening in microwave. Remove from heat and let cool (I just pop mine in the fridge for a few minutes). Add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well. In another bowl combine dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt & spices. Add to shortening mixture, mix well. Chill. Form in 1" balls, I use a small ice cream scoop for this. Roll in granulated sugar, place on greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes.

Try these, I'm sure you'll love them. Til next time~Diane

New on Ebay Tonight....

I haven't listed anything on Ebay for about a month, tonight I got this simple, primitive little Bunny Cupboard Doll listed.

It's really hard to know what to create and offer to people now, the economy is in such a turmoil and I know people have to really think before they spend. So I plan to offer pieces that are a bit simpler and less detailed therefore allowing me to keep my prices down a bit. They will still have plenty of hand-stitching and detail.

I hope you all had a wonderful first weekend of the New Year. Mine was pretty quiet, I mostly stayed home, sewed and made two stews yesterday. One beef and for a couple of my family members that are allergic to beef, venison stew. Hunting season ended here this past Saturday, deer season that is. A neighbor gave us some venison, I use it for stews and cook the tenderloin with onions and gravy. I can't eat it though, therefore the beef stew is for me!

The rest of this week I'll be working on something for the Simply Primitives update on January 15th, my deadline is the 10th, so I don't have much time left. I'll be sure and post a picture or two here when I finish.

Til then...take care. ~Diane
