~On Ebay Now & A Recipe~

Last night I listed this Americana Doll~Betsy & her Sampler~ It's a 5-day listing and will end next Wed. night around 10:00 Eastern time. Click on my Ebay link and take a look at her.

I also wanted to share a really easy and very good plain loaf cake recipe I recently came across. With strawberry season quickly approaching I thought maybe you'd enjoy this. We love sweetened strawberries on plain cake, in fact I recently made one and served it with bought strawberries. It quickly disappeared!

SIMPLEST LOAF CAKE:

1&1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup flavorless oil, such as canola. (I use Crisco canola oil)

Preheat oven to 350 & generously butter a 8&1/2x4&1/2x2&1/2-inch loaf pan (6 cup capacity). I just spray my loaf pan with butter-flavored PAM and it works fine.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder & salt.

In another bowl whisk the eggs, sugar, sour cream and vanilla until well-blended. Add the dry ingredients & stir until smooth. Finally pour in the oil & using the whisk gently, but thoroughly, fold it into the batter.

Put the batter in the loaf pan and bake 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool on a rack for 5 min. then take it out of the pan and cool to room temperature.

Serve plain, with ice cream and berries or berries and whipped cream. The recipe even says it's good toasted & spread with jam.

Hope you'll try this, it's so much tastier than store-bought.

I finished up and mailed an order this week that I'd had for sometime. I also managed to make some things for Southern Past-Times this week and am working on some dolls to mail to SPT this coming week. I also have the TDIPT Mercantile update coming up the night of April 30th....so it will be another busy week!
I'm hoping after this to take some time and get some much-needed spring cleaning done. I also need to get the porches cleaned off and pot some flowers. The porch floors are yellow with pollen.

So that's what I've been up to....till next time~Diane

Coming In May

The TDIPT Artist's have chosen a theme for TDIPT Mercantile in May, it will be ~Made In America~. Each Artist has been asked to come up with at least one Americana themed item. If you love Patriotic/Americana decorating there should be plenty of Sam's, Liberty's and Eagles to choose from. You could have something new in plenty of time for all the upcoming Americana Holidays...Memorial Day, Flag Day, the fourth of July and Labor Day. Plan to join us and help us celebrate the Red, White & Blue!

I'm finishing up an order today and then will be working on something new, I haven't decided yet if it will be for my Selling Blog, Ebay or possibly Etsy. Yes, I am planning to start offering my items there. So many of my friends have starting selling there and are pleased with their sales and have been telling me I should try , so I will. I'll keep you posted about it.

Back to my sewing now....~Diane

For Simply Primitives Update

For the Simply Primitives update, on April 15th, I'll have three of these hearts offered, each slightly different in fabric and trims. They would be perfect for Mother's Day which will be here before you know it!
I'll also have a Patriotic Make-Do that features a flag and lots of little extras pinned to it. So be sure to check out Simply Primitives on Wed. April 15th, the link is to the right.

I'll be working on finishing up an order this week. I'm hoping to get something else on my Selling Blog soon, I'll let you know when I do.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. The day was gorgeous here, slightly cool but sunny. The Dogwoods and redbuds are blooming and they're so pretty this year.

I need to get to bed, so I can get to sewing tomorrow. I hope you all have a great day tomorrow...enjoy it!

Spring Blessings

Tonight on Ebay I've listed this girly little Spring Blessings Bunny Angel, I hope you can take a minute to check it out. My Ebay link is to the right. Here's a picture of her.

It was a gorgeous Spring day here today. My crabapple and redbud trees are blooming and the Dogwoods are ready to burst into bloom, it's truly a beautiful time of year with all the trees and shrubs reawakening.
I've managed to get one order finished and mailed this week and am hoping to finish up another by the first of next week for a very patient, wonderful customer of mine. I also am working on 2, maybe 3 (if I'm lucky!!) bunnies for the Simply Primitives update on April 15th. Maybe I'll get a chance to post a picture of them here late in the weekend or first part of next week.

I'm also hoping to go next week with a friend of mine to Notforgotten Farm to visit Lori and see what new goodies she has. It's always so much fun and Winnie and I usually also go to 1 or 2 Antique shops and, of course, have lunch. There's a great Italian restaurant not too far from Lori's where we usually eat. I'll tell you about my trip and any goodies I find later.

I hope each of you has a wonderful Easter weekend, enjoy the time with your family and friends.

Til next time~Diane

Spring Bunnies on Ebay

I listed this pair of Spring Bunnies tonight on Ebay. It's a five day listing and will end Thursday April 9th at 9:20 P.M. eastern time. My Ebay link is to the right.

Things have been really busy here, it seems I always have a deadline. I'm really making an effort to finish two orders I have and the Simply Primitives update is coming quickly too. So if I don't post here for a few days you'll know why.

I also need to do some Spring cleaning, the weather is perfect for it, sunny days with pleasant temperatures, ideal for throwing open the windows and letting the fresh air in. So we shall see just what I get accomplished in the upcoming week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I hope your weather is as delightful as our's is here in Virginia.~Diane
